Disney World 2016 shirts

My brother and his wife will be bringing their son E to WDW for the first time in a few weeks.  So of course the occasion warrants matching t-shirts.

In total I made 7 matching shirts.  Two ladies cut, two mens, and three children's shirts.  They are carrying shades of navy blue with white siser HTV.

Back to basics in blogging

I have been thinking long and hard about my blogging and I have finally decided on what direction I would like to take.  When I began blogging a few years ago my original mission was to have a way to share and achive the projects I have made.  Over time my blog gained followers and I was thrilled. In fact I am always surprised and thrilled when people take the time to stop by leave comments and share my work.  But somewhere all g the way blogging became stressful rather than fun.  I felt like I needed to constantly created something g bigger and better and write detailed posted.  This stress has kept me from posting a lot of my simpler projects, but that defeats the purpose of archiving my work.  So I have decided it is time to go get back to basics.  While I do plan to continue sharing my more elaborate work I am also going to be posting some of my simpler projects.  This may mean at times that I choose to just share the photos and a few quick details.  It also means that I will. E posting more frequently.

So I'm starting now. The following photos are of car decals I made today for a friend.  They were made using my cameo and glossy outdoor vinyl

The first is a starwars hello kitty and the second is for some game.   It is for a friend so I'm not familiar with the game but I know he is happy :)

Have a Merry Mickey Christmas

I have to say I just love these ornaments. I made a few this fall for my family and a friend asked me to recreate them for her family. I made a couple of changes this time, and I think I love them even more- if that is possible. Anyway, I was asked if I could share the directions, so here they are.
To begin the process I drew a line all the way around a black glitter ornament with a metalic permanent marker. A small tupperware cup that I had was the perfect size for the ornaments I bought.
Next apply Mod Podge to the bottom of the ornament and add red glitter. Expect to make a giant glitter mess in this process, but it is well worth it!
Add ears- I used glitter balls that are for home decor but they worked perfectly. I used hot glue to attach then sprinkled around the balls with black glitter so that no hot glue would be showing.
Add buttons for Mickey and bows for Minnie!

The Minnie ornaments got one final touch- sequins around the middle.
To do the personalization I cut vinyl using my Cameo and a disney font.  As the ornament is covered in glitter, the vinyl wouldn't stick well, so I used mod podge to adhear the vinyl and then to seal them to the ornament!.

So there you have it, a whole family of personalized ornaments!

Carnival Birthday

OK gals, I have been working feverishly to do some items for a friend's son's birthday party.  I haven't posted much this past couple of weeks because I have spent so much time on this project, but I am thrilled with how it is turning out.  The vast majority of this was done using the Carousel Lite Cartridge.  I also used stars from the Birthday cakes cartridge and a little mystery cartridge "that shall not be named"  HEHE.

The invitations,,,I have blacked out the personal information.

Finally getting settled

Well, we are finally getting settled in the new house.  The major part of the move- furniture, took place last Saturday.  At this point I am down to just a few boxes left to unpack & I need to pick up a few little things from the old house.  It is my hope that in the next two weeks we will be fully settled in to the new place.

So, this morning I took a few minutes out of the unpacking schedule to work on a project.  This one is for the kitchen.  I absolutely love the new cricut cartridge, Love you a Latte!  When I saw it last month I knew that I had to have it for some new house projects.  Today, I created the "have a cup" cut using vinyl purchased from H & H sign supply, the love you a latte cartridge, my cricut expression, and my gypsy.

Supplies to get the project started.  4 colors of vinyl, gypsy, love you a latte cartridge, and a 12 x 24 E mat

At this point the first two cuts have been layered and the two layers of the coffee cut are ready and words have been weeded

Wall decor for a friends

My friend's birday was early this week, and as she is a huge fan of mermaids I made this sign for her craft room.  I used the Life's a Beach Cartridge for the Mermaid and the fish.  For the bubbles I welded circles using my gypsy and the cake basics cartridge.  As I do not own George and basic shapes the cake cart is my go to for simple shapes.  Then phrase was cut using the cake basics cartridge as well.  The lettering was cut from vinyl and placed on the outside of the frame.

Yet another decal

Checking in today with yet another car decal project.  This one was specifcally requested by a friend who loves all things computers.  I used photoshop, SCAL2, and my cricut for the design portion.  It was cut from permenant vinyl in both black and white, as requested.

Family Car Decal

Just to clarify- I created this for a friend.  My family consists of two little boys, mommy and daddy and our three turtles.

I seem to have a real addiction for the car decals right now.  I have just completed yet another one, and wanted to share it here.  In the same fashion as the others I have done I used SCAL and my Cricut.  Thanks for looking.

another car decal

I created another car decal yesterday, this time for my husband.  The creation process was very similar to the first one I made (click here for decal).  I did some photoshop work and then cut using my cricut and SCAL.  I used silver glossy vinyl for this decal.  I have found that silver and white seem to look the best on tinted windows. I posted this to FB yesterday and had a few of my neighbors send me messages asking me to make one for them.  So, not only did I get to have some crafty time yesterday I got the satisfaction of having other people like my work enough to pay me for it!  I was on such a high.  Let me know what you think.

My first car decal

I have been working on this project in my head for quite some time, but have finally gotten it done tonight.  This is a car decal that I created using Photoshop, SCAL, and my Cricut.  Now I know that SCAL is the "program that shall not be named", but I truely love that it expands the abilities of my Cricut machine.  I am a true lover of all things ProvoCraft.  I have a baby bug, expression, imagine, cricut cake machine, yudu, and yourstory along with about 100 cartridges and 2 gypsys.  If that doesn't scream customer loyalty I don't know what does.  That said, PC's products do not allow me to create my own projects, so when I need to I turn to SCAL

Here is the image in SCAL.  I set it up to cut 4 logos on a sheet of 12 x 12 vinyl.  For the vinyl I ordered some glossy white Orcal vinyl for outdoor use.  According to the manufactur it should last 3-7 years when applied outdoors.  I let my Cricut do the work from here.  After it was cut I carefully cut into 4 seperate pieces so the images can be used individually.  Then carefully weeded the image.  I cleaned the window of my car with baby wipes to remove the dirt and grime then with rubbing alcohol to ensure it was really clean.  I used transfer tape to apply the weeded image to my car.  That's pretty much it.  If you have any specific questions just let me know and I will be happy to answer them.

Door Decor

Here are a few photos of our hotel room door decor.  We did win last place, a $15 credit to cricut.com, so I am excited about that.

On either side of the door were wanted posters with each of our names and photos...I'll post better images of those a bit later!  Jan cut the Rowdy sign from Vinyl using rock princess for us!  I just love the way it turned out, and Princess brought the life size cowgirl!
