April showers card

A friend of mine is battling breast cancer right now.  Last week she underwent a mastectomy on her left breast to remove the cancer.  The surgery went well and she is now resting at home and starting the healing process.  I have made it a personal goal to send her a card or package weekly for the next few months.  This week I did both.  I sent her a package with my pink journey cartridge and this card.  I know it is a big no-no to give away carts that are gypsy linked, but I thought in this case it was worth the risk.  I have had the cartridge since last summer.  I wanted to purchase one for my friend, but when I looked on ebay I couldn't find one for less than $100.  At that point I made the decision to part with mine.  My friend doesn't use her G that much so I don't think she will mind.

Now for the card.  I created this card using the April showers Cartridge for the umbrella.  Create a critter for the cloud, paisley for the rainboots, elegant edges for the inside, and mother's day bouquet for the rain drops and inside flowers.  The idea for this card actually started with the rain drops.  I added glitter using loose glitter and glossy accents, a bit of twine for the flower stems, and some gems in the flower centers.  The rain drops and flowers are actually the negatives from the favor flowers I made last week.  It is a pretty simple card, but I wanted to so something along the lines of April showers bring may flowers.  I think it is fitting for someone recovering.  Even after the worst storms beautiful flowers bloom.  I
