Big Sister/ Little Sister Dresses

My BFF is expecting her second daughter in just a few weeks.  I have been wanting to create something special for the girls, and found these cute Zebra Print dresses at my local Walmart store, and thought that they would be perfect for personalizing.   I used my Cricut Machine and Sure Cuts a Lot software to create the fun Big/Little sister phrases and added them to the store bought dresses.  I can't wait to see the girls in their new outfits (of course after the baby arrives)

V-day cards

As I have now posted two Valentines Day Mail Boxes, I thought today would be a good day to post a few Valentine's Day Cards that I have been working on.  I actually created these a few weeks ago, but haven't had a chance to get the posted here yet.  I thought this would be a nice opportunity to do so.

All four of these designs began with craft card stock and feature CTMH stamps.  All three are 3x3 cards.

Craft CS and the DECEMBER 2011 SOTMs, with a bit of embrodery floss-varrigated

Craft CS and the December 2011 SOTMs, a bit of liquid glass to make the hearts shine.  THe paper was from my stash

Craft CS and the December 2011 SOTMs, hearts and tag cut using the AP cartridge and some heat embossing on the hearts.  Paper from my stash.

Stamps: Pair a Pharse from CTMH, craft card stock, and some hand coloring using SPICA markers.

Another Valentine's Day Mailbox

As you may recall I posted a Valentine's Day Mail box last week CLICK HERE TO GO TO THAT POST.  Today I decided that I wanted to create a more traditional mail box.  This  project was really just for fun, as I have no real use for a PINK mail box, but it does match my craft room & will make a nice place to stash things.

This is a cute and simple project.  The entire thing took less than one hour to cut and assemble.  Happy crafting~!

This was created using the same SVG set from SVGcuts.com that I used for the Alien box.  As you can see this is a very versitile set & depending on the papers used can take on very different looks.

With the front closed- ties shut with a ribbon

The flag and heart boarder are both part of the kit.  I welded two of the heart boarders together to get one long enough for the side of the mail box.  I used the negative cuts from the boarder to add to the flag.

I attached the flag with a white glitter brad to allow it to go up and down

A vday mail box for my son

DSC_0586.jpg

I recently bought the cutest SVG v-day mailbox set from svgcuts.com.  The set has three adroable mailboxes that are SVG format.
Valentine Mailboxes SVG Kit

Instead of making it totally girlie, I choose to go with more of a boy theme.  I made the mail box base out of green glitter paper, used a toystory print for the accent pannels and then used the Cricut Toy Story Cartridge to make the Aliens.  I used CTMH stamps for the "valentines" in the hands of the aliens.  Because I cut the Aliens at only 4 inches I choose to draw in some of the smaller cuts (neck rings, belts, eyeballs).

A digital Scrapping Kind of Day

Layoutdoubletake-1.jpg

As I am still not back to 100% from this fight against strep throat, I decided today would be a great day to just sit infront of my computer instead of actually crafting.  LOL.

Today, I want to introduce all of you to a dear friend of mine, Kimberly Phillips.  Kim is the owner and creative mind behind Little Bees Graphics.  Her company (read she) designs custom invitations for baby showers, weddings, bridal showers, and so much more!  I'm not talking about slapping some stuff around in Photoshop- like I did today, I mean, she draws EVERY design by hand!  I have been amazed by Kim's art skills since we were kids, we met in Kindergarden in 1980 something :)  My level of respect for her runs deep and I am privilaged to count her among my friends.

I have been working hard to convince Kimberly Phillips that she needs to dive into the world of digital scrapbooking, and potentially into SVG creation.  While, I have yet to win that battle I did talk her into providing me with a few of her images so that I could use them in a digital layout.  Please be sure to visit Kim on Facebook by clicking here, and tell her how amazing you think her designs are!  You can also visit her ETSY store to check out all of her amazing invites and designs :)

Kim created the Brown stiped background, the Dinos, the dots, and the scalloped boarder...I worked my magic in photoshop to do the rest.  As you can see I have once again "cheated" and created two very similar works using just one basic layout.

A breast Cancer Card

Well, gals, let me start off by saying I'm sorry I haven't check in all week.  Disney was wonderful and we were able to squeeze in a day at the beach while we were in Flordia.  The weather was perfect for us last weekend.  I had high hopes that I would be doing a lot of crafting this week as it is my last week off from school.  Unfortunately, I picked up a case of strep throat while in FL and I have been really sick thsi week.  I am starting to feel a bit better, but I am still running a fever and not up for crafting yet.

So, I have been meaning to share this card with you.  I made it before Christmas for a friend who has had a very long and difficult year.  I have been sending cards to her on a regular basis this year and I wanted to make her end of the year card special.  To create the card I used the Cricut Cartrige Forever young and used my Gypsy to weld two of the bra shapes together.  I also added a rectangle from George and Basic Shapes to fill in the center.  The white layer was cut using glitter cardstock...then a pink layer...then the top layer I cut then covered in tulle.  I added a pretty sheer ribbon to the bra.  For the "necklace" I used a bit of chain that I had in my stash and the pink ribbon is a portion of a pink paperclip that I trimmed and twisted to get the shape I needed.

I hope you like it!  I hope to be back on my feet soon and hopefully, I will be crafting again this weekend.

On Vacation

If the weather is nice today, this is where we are going- Honeymoon Island, for some shelling.  See you all in a few days!

January 7, 2012

I'm at Disney World today- taking a few days off of blogging.  See you real soon!

January 6, 2012

surprise- we are going to Disney World

Today we are flying to Flordia to take a quick break before school starts up again in a week.  My husband and I have elected to not tell our boys that we are going on the trip or the details of the trip!  We have done this mostly to avoid the hyperactivity that surrounds a trip & the lack of sleep.   I have set post up a few days in advance, but if all is on schedule we should be on a plane to FL right now with the boys.

And if you are a regular visitor here, you should know that I love making shirts!  So, what's a trip to FL & Disney World without a dorky set of matching shirts for the whole family?!?!?

This years design was created using SCAL, and my cricut.  I found a fun dingbat online that had the Fantasia Mickey hat, then added the date and phrase.   While this was pretty simple to created I love the end result!  I used black glitter HTV for three of the shirts (mine and the boys) and as my hubby was dead set against wearing a glittery shirt, his is made out of regular HTV.

Last years WDW shirts can be seen HERE

Another set of Cupcake Shirts

Just a quick share today.  I created a couple more cupcake shirts for a friend's twin daughters.  She provided shirts she picked up at the Gap for the shirts and I added the cupcakes.  If you are new to my blog, and missed my previous post on these shirts you can find that HERE with more details.
